The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the app, your location is read only at the moment you post, we never track you in the background, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
باختصار: نجمع الحدّ الأدنى اللازم لتشغيل التطبيق، ويُقرأ موقعك لحظة النشر فقط، ولا نتتبّعك في الخلفية أبداً، وتستطيع حذف كل شيء من داخل التطبيق.
Who we are
من نحن
Nowly is operated by Waleed Almehza, a sole establishment registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Throughout this policy, "we" and "us" refer to that establishment, and "you" refers to anyone using the Nowly app.
يُشغّل Nowly وليد المهزع، مؤسسة فردية مسجّلة في مملكة البحرين. في هذه السياسة، "نحن" تشير إلى تلك المؤسسة، و"أنت" تشير إلى أي شخص يستخدم تطبيق Nowly.

About your location
عن موقعك
This is the part that matters most, so we will be exact. Nowly asks for location permission "while using the app", never "always". When you post, the app takes a single reading, compares it to the venue you checked into, and uses the result to allow or refuse the post. The coordinates themselves are never written to our database. What we store is which venue you posted from — the same thing every other person can see on the post.
هذه أهم نقطة، لذا سنكون دقيقين. يطلب Nowly إذن الموقع "أثناء استخدام التطبيق" فقط، لا "دائماً". عند النشر يأخذ التطبيق قراءة واحدة، ويقارنها بالمكان الذي سجّلت دخولك فيه، ويستخدم النتيجة للسماح بالنشر أو رفضه. الإحداثيات نفسها لا تُكتب في قاعدة بياناتنا إطلاقاً. ما نخزّنه هو المكان الذي نشرت منه — وهو نفسه ما يراه الجميع على المنشور.
The app contains no background location code. If you are curious how we can promise that: iOS requires an app to declare background location use in its configuration, and Nowly does not.
لا يحتوي التطبيق على أي كود لتتبّع الموقع في الخلفية. وإن تساءلت كيف نضمن ذلك: نظام iOS يُلزم التطبيق بالإعلان عن استخدام الموقع في الخلفية ضمن إعداداته، وNowly لا يفعل.
What we deliberately do not collect

- Your real name — we never ask for it
- Your date of birth — we ask you to confirm you are 17 or older, and store only that yes or no
- Your contacts, calendar, photo library or microphone
- Any location outside the moment you post
- اسمك الحقيقي — لا نطلبه أبداً
- تاريخ ميلادك — نطلب تأكيد أنك ١٧ فأكثر، ونحفظ ذلك التأكيد فقط
- جهات اتصالك أو تقويمك أو استوديو صورك أو الميكروفون
- أي موقع خارج لحظة النشر
If you sign in with Apple, we request no scopes at all. Apple gives us an anonymous identifier and nothing else — not your name, not your email, not even a private relay address.
إن سجّلت الدخول عبر Apple، فنحن لا نطلب أي صلاحيات. تمنحنا Apple معرّفاً مجهولاً فقط — لا اسمك ولا بريدك ولا حتى عنوان تحويل خاص.
How your photos are screened
كيف تُفحص صورك
Before a photo is uploaded, it is checked on your own device using Apple's built-in sensitive content classifier. This runs entirely on your phone — the photo does not leave it to be screened, and we never see a photo that fails the check. Captions are screened on our server against a word list.
قبل رفع أي صورة، تُفحص على جهازك نفسه باستخدام مصنّف المحتوى الحسّاس المدمج في Apple. يعمل الفحص كلياً على هاتفك — الصورة لا تغادره لتُفحص، ولا نرى نحن أي صورة ترسب في الفحص. أمّا التعليقات فتُفحص على خادمنا مقابل قائمة كلمات.
Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and we never will. Two service providers process data on our behalf:
لا نبيع بياناتك ولن نفعل. مزوّدا خدمة اثنان يعالجان البيانات نيابةً عنّا:
- Supabase hosts our database and photo storage. Our servers are in Tokyo, Japan, which means your data is stored outside Bahrain.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple and the App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Supabase يستضيف قاعدة بياناتنا ومخزن الصور. خوادمنا في طوكيو باليابان، أي أن بياناتك تُخزَّن خارج البحرين.
- Apple تتولّى تسجيل الدخول عبر Apple ومتجر التطبيقات، وفق سياسة الخصوصية الخاصة بها.
We may disclose data if a Bahraini court or competent authority lawfully requires it.
قد نفصح عن البيانات إذا طلبتها محكمة بحرينية أو جهة مختصّة بشكل قانوني.
Your rights
حقوقك
Under Bahrain's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018) you may ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or erase it. Most of this you can do yourself:
بموجب قانون حماية البيانات الشخصية البحريني (قانون رقم ٣٠ لسنة ٢٠١٨) يحقّ لك أن تطلب الاطّلاع على ما نحتفظ به، أو تصحيحه، أو محوه. ومعظم ذلك تستطيع فعله بنفسك:
- Delete a post — hold it and choose Delete. The photo is removed from storage.
- Delete your account — Settings, then Delete account. This removes your profile, every post, every saved moment, your follows and your check-ins, and erases your photos from storage. It cannot be undone.
- Anything else — write to support@nowlyapp.com and we will respond within 30 days.
- حذف منشور — اضغط عليه مطوّلاً واختر حذف. تُزال الصورة من التخزين.
- حذف حسابك — الإعدادات ثم حذف الحساب. يزيل ملفك الشخصي وكل منشور ولحظة محفوظة ومتابعة وتسجيل دخول لمكان، ويمحو صورك من التخزين. ولا يمكن التراجع عنه.
- أي شيء آخر — راسلنا على support@nowlyapp.com وسنردّ خلال ٣٠ يوماً.
Children
الأطفال
Nowly is not for anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using Nowly, tell us at support@nowlyapp.com and we will remove the account.
Nowly ليس لمن هم دون ١٧ عاماً. ولا نجمع بيانات من الأطفال عن علم. إن كنت تعتقد أن طفلاً يستخدم Nowly، أخبرنا على support@nowlyapp.com وسنحذف الحساب.
Changes
التعديلات
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
إن عدّلنا هذه السياسة بما يؤثّر عليك، سنُعلمك داخل التطبيق قبل سريان التعديل. والتاريخ في الأعلى يعكس النسخة الحالية دائماً.
